The aim of the Journalism undergraduate program is to train qualified personnel in the media and communications sectors. Departmental courses are structured with both theoretical and practical considerations. Journalism requires an intellectual foundation, and this foundation is provided through the use of related disciplines such as politics and philosophy.
Mass communication theories, fundamental principles of journalism, and ethical values are among the core courses. In addition to theoretical courses, the department curriculum also includes current courses relevant to today's new media and digital communication ecosystem, such as news gathering and writing techniques, applied journalism, news rewriting, broadcast and television reporting, camera and lighting, mobile journalism, data journalism, drone reporting, and social media applications and analytics. In this context, the primary goal of the Journalism undergraduate program is to cultivate future journalists and communicators who possess both traditional journalistic skills and the ability to apply them, as well as digital competencies and skills within the journalism field.r.
